Creative Infant and Toddler

Ages Birth-2: Using a 5-part conceptual lesson plan, children will explore music and movement through songs and stories. Classes focus on fun and appropriate movements for building baby and toddler bodies and brains. Playful social/emotional connections are made as we dance together and with others.  Children explore dance concepts using multi-sensory props and musical instruments.  The BrainDance and the sixteen Elements of Dance (Place, Size, Level, Direction, Pathway, Focus, Speed, Rhythm, Energy, Weight, Flow, Body Parts, Relationships, Shapes, Balance and Emotion) are incorporated into each class along with important locomotor and nonlocomotor movement skills. The BrainDance is based on fundamental movement patterns that help to wire the central nervous system. The curriculum helps build cognitive, physical, social, and emotional skills.

Creative Infant and Toddler can be taken as:

  • Year-long course covering all 16 concepts and then layering concepts for more in-depth study.
  • 16-week comprehensive and complete course.
  •  8-week course covering concepts of Space and Time (Place, Size, Level, Direction, Pathway, Focus, Speed, Rhythm).
  •  8-week course covering concepts of Force & Body (Energy, Weight, Flow, Body Parts, Relationships, Shapes, Balance, Emotion).
